Ibiza has long been celebrated for its wild nightlife, vibrant beats, and bohemian spirit. However, there’s a hidden side of the island that caters to families seeking the perfect blend of trendy and kid-friendly experiences. Aside from the clubbing scene, what stands out the most are the incredible vibes everywhere on the island, breathtaking beaches (some of the best in Europe), and the family-friendly beach clubs. Here’s a curated guide on what not to miss:
- Dalt Vila (Old Town): Explore the historic old town with its charming streets and stunning views. Have dinner at La Oliva which is in the main plaza to truly savour the charm.
- Ibiza Port: Walk and shop around the port area, and stop for lunch at Cappuccino.
- Talamanca Beach: Located close to Ibiza Town, Talamanca Beach has shallow waters, making it ideal for young children. Book at Chambao Family Beach Club for a laid-back lunch by the beach.
- Cala Llonga: Cala Llonga is a spacious beach with calm waters. It offers a range of water activities and beachside facilities. Book ahead for lunch at Amante Ibiza for amazing seafood in a beautiful setting.
- Cala Bassa: Known for its crystal-clear waters and fine sand, Cala Bassa is a family-friendly beach with various water sports and amenities. Spend the day at Cala Bassa Beach club, which is an ideal place for families.
- Port D´es Torrent: This beach has calm waters and is well-protected, making it safe for kids. If you are a paella lover, book lunch at El Gallo Viejo.
- Cala Tarida: A very kid-friendly beach with sandy stretches. Have lunch on the terrace of Cotton Beach Club at Nobu Hotel for incredible views.
- Punta Moscater Lighthouse: Active lighthouse with breathtaking views in the northernmost point of Ibiza.
- Punta Grossa Lighthouse: Not recommended with younger kids, as the hike to the lighthouse has some dangerous spots.
- Es Canar Hippy Market: The oldest and biggest hippie market on the island, open every Wednesday & Friday.
- Las Dalias Hippy Market: A mix of art, music, and unique finds in a lively atmosphere, open every Saturday.
- Formentera: A must! You will find Maldives-like beaches such as Ses Illetes and Migjorn, with beachfront restaurants like Juan Y Andrea & Chezz Gerdi.
- La Savina Port Formentera: Visit the main port of Formentera, filled with shops, restaurants, and scenic views.

**Hotel Tip: If you’re looking for a family-friendly resort with a kids’ club, consider the Grand Palladium White Island Resort. The downside is that they only offer an all-inclusive package, which you might not need if you intend to explore the island. However, compared to other 5-star resorts on the island, this was the best value for an extended stay. The night shows are impressive, and the kids enjoyed them a lot! The resort also arranges professional babysitters who can stay with the kids and take them to hotel activities if you plan on a night out – or two 🙂
